2.5 micron vermeil
True vermeil — not flash plating. Every gold piece carries a minimum 2.5 microns of 18K gold over solid 925 sterling silver.
The House
Transparency is part of luxury. Every GHALIA piece begins with certified 925 sterling silver, finished in 18K gold vermeil with a minimum 2.5-micron plating, and completed with hand-selected pearls and semi-precious stones — demi-fine jewellery made to be worn, understood, and treasured.
True vermeil — not flash plating. Every gold piece carries a minimum 2.5 microns of 18K gold over solid 925 sterling silver.
Our sterling silver alloy is formulated for sensitive skin — no nickel, no brass bases, no shortcuts beneath the surface.
Pearls and semi-precious gems are individually selected and set by skilled artisans to protect each stone and elevate the design.
The warm glow of fine gold — built on sterling silver, engineered for everyday wear.
Vermeil (pronounced ver-may) is sterling silver plated with a substantial layer of gold. At GHALIA, vermeil means 18 karat gold — never 14K or 24K flash coatings — bonded to a 925 sterling silver core. We plate to a minimum of 2.5 microns, exceeding industry standards for demi-fine jewellery and delivering the depth of colour and durability you expect from a luxury house.
What defines our vermeil
Note: Put vermeil on last after fragrance and skincare. Store dry in your GHALIA pouch to preserve the gold layer.
The structural heart of GHALIA — bright, durable, and hallmarked for purity.
Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper, giving silver the strength it needs for rings, clasps, and everyday wear without sacrificing its natural brilliance. It forms the base of nearly every GHALIA piece — whether finished in vermeil or worn in its pure silver form.
Composition & standards
Note: Store sterling in a dry pouch. A gentle polish restores brightness whenever natural tarnish appears.
Luminous, living gems — each pearl chosen for its lustre, shape, and quiet character.
GHALIA pearls are cultured — grown inside oysters with human guidance, then hand-selected for surface quality, roundness, and iridescence. Unlike synthetic beads, each pearl carries subtle variations that make your piece uniquely yours. We use freshwater and Akoya varieties depending on the design, always prioritising lustre over uniformity.
Pearl characteristics
Note: Wipe pearls with a soft damp cloth after wear. Never submerge strands or store in airtight plastic.
Hand-selected gems that bring depth, movement, and individuality to every design.
Our semi-precious stones — including moonstone, turquoise, onyx, malachite, and labradorite — are chosen for their natural colour variation and character. Each stone is inspected for clarity, cut, and compatibility with its setting. We do not use glass-filled or dyed stones; what you see is the earth's own palette, set with precision.
Stone standards
Note: Avoid impact and harsh chemicals near stone settings. Store separately to prevent scratching against metal.
For select heirloom pieces — pure metal, hallmarked and made to last generations.
A curated selection of GHALIA designs are crafted entirely in 14ct solid gold — not plated, not filled. Solid gold carries its colour and value through the metal itself, making these pieces true investments in fine jewellery. Each is hallmarked 585, certifying 58.5% pure gold content.
Solid gold details
Note: Solid gold requires minimal care. Store in your GHALIA pouch and polish occasionally with a soft cloth.
Materials are only the beginning — how we finish, set, and inspect every element defines GHALIA quality.
Beyond metal and stone, every GHALIA piece passes through rigorous finishing: hand-polished surfaces, secure clasp mechanisms, reinforced jump rings, and micro-inspected stone settings. Pieces ship in a branded pouch within protective packaging — because the experience of receiving your jewellery should match the care that went into making it.
